A Thousand Words by James Eagalwulf
29th September 2009

Speak to me a thousand words, each as precise.
Leave me sleeping in the wings of Christ.
Tonight, my life of sacrifice ceases.
Blood shall remain tied by my obedience.

Speak to me a thousand words, each unemotional.
Retire these memories, so meek and unsociable.
Tonight, my sorrow sleeps chained to an alley.
Lift to the sky a soul you can carry.

Although it is said, “Our heaven is false.”
Death from our kind would provide the same source.
Fly through the tears of polluted clouds.
The cry of her thunder is coarse and aloud.

A thousand words later, we’ll embrace much silence.
Doves shan’t fly, nor be replaced by tyrants.
Quiet is all but a thousand words coming.
Return me to Earth, once blooming and budding.
